Dinner has always been my downfall when it comes to losing weight. Overeating at dinner has always been a weight-loss obstacle for me. If you want to lose weight and keep it off, you will need to identify your obstacles, and then learn how to overcome them. The key to overcoming them is to be happy with the method you use to overcome them. For example, as I just mentioned above, one of the obstacles that challenged me was overeating at dinner. I overcame that weigth-loss obstacle by doing a few things.
I eat a healthy snack about a half-hour to an hour before dinner. The idea behind this is to spoil my appetite so that I won’t be as hungry at dinner and therefore, I can have more restraint.
Many of my dinners include salads. This adds a healthy component to my dinner and helps fill me up.
Add fruit and vegetables to your meal. One again, it will add a healthy component to your meal and help fill you up, with lesser calories.
These are some of the things that I did to lose weight. They are still things that I do today to keep the weight off. They are also things that I want to do. They are things that I am willing to continue doing. They are not things I tell myself I am only willing to do short term until the weight comes off. That attitude will result in failure. Short-term changes in habits will result in returning to your old bad eating habits that got you overweight in the first place.
If you want to lose weight and keep it off forever, develop long-term solutions, not short term fixes.
